A Michigan school ran a background check that showed a clean history for school volunteer Larry Gordon, however Gordon had a long criminal past with violent crimes. The school failed to run a check at the federal level, which would have revealed this information. Gordon went to on to shoot and kill two courthouse bailiffs.
